Firsts for Me

First Time I...

have ever ran a race (with my itty bitty sister :-).  It was only a 6k and I didn't do it in the fastest time, but that's okay because I did it!  It was a women's only race through the gorgeous Thanksgiving Point gardens.  Although a little raining and cold that morning, it was still so beautiful.  I totally plan on doing this again next year and Alexa's going to join me/us. Yay!

First time I...

have ever re-finished furniture and love it!

*We inherited this from Brandon's grandma, but I gave it a "new life".*

These pics don't give it justice.  It's a great piece of furniture and I love the way the color (which you can't really even tell in these pics) and glaze turned out.

I have also refinished a night table that I got at a thrift store for the girls room, a headboard for my mother and in the process of two other pieces.  It has been fun!

Misc. Pictures

He's almost outgrown his crib, but as long as he isn't trying to climb out he'll be staying in it for awhile. :)

Rockin out with daddy

Bedtime kisses...

Alexa gets the "Altara Better Citizen" Award.  Last year when she got this award I forgot the camera, but don't worry I totally did the "mental picture" with my hands.  Haha! Classic.

The girls making yummy spider webs with pretzels and chocolate...

And Matt enjoying eating them. :)

You never know where you'll find this kid...
but it is usually in some kind of basket or box.

Matt is obssesed with football!  We took advantage of all the nice afternoons while the girls were at school to play.

First Family Campout

Brandon always takes the girls on a campout in August.  We decided it was time to go on a family campout as well, since Matt and I have never been.  The weather was so nice and the fall colors were brilliant!

I worried how Matt would do, but he absolutely loved it!  Alexa made sure to inform me that, "you can't bring your blow-dryer mom because there are no plugs and there are no showers."  Apparently she thought I had never been camping before and was giving me a full-on instuctional tutorial as if she were some expert. :)  To be honest, I'm not much of a camper, but I have definately been. I did appreciate her efforts and her dad was most proud.  The girls love to go camping.  I must admit it was a lot of fun and we look forward to going again next year.

He is SO HOT! ;)

I scared Audrie to death!  Surprisingly, the others wanted a turn too.

We love camping!

Yeah I know...such a hunk! Oh my, oh my!

Beautiful ride home...
