*Be prepared for picture overload*
Two days after Christmas the Watts clan flew to Austin, TX to see Keven (aka Uncle Pooh) before he headed off to Iraq. It was so fun to be together! After being snowed in at the airport in Colorado, Randy was finally able to join us a few days into the trip. We enjoyed visiting the city of Austin and also getting a glance of Ft. Hood where Keven lives.
The girls were super excited to go on an airplane. It would be the first time for Audrie and the first that Alexa would remember. Our flight was over an hour late leaving and the anticipation was killing them, especially Audrie who was most excited. By the time we arrived in Austin it was around 1:00 in the morning. You would think that would be tortuous with kids and all, but surprisingly they were really good.
I was really hoping to run into Matthew McConaughey or even Sandra Bullock (who I found out later was there at her restaurant on New Year's Eve with the handsome Ryan Reynolds), but no such luck. :( Oh well! It was a great trip, wonderful weather and of course the best company. If only we didn't have to come back to reality and negative-degree temps.
May God watch over and protect you Uncle Pooh while in Iraq. We love you and we'll miss you!
