Easter!

We decided to have our own Easter Egg Hunt this year, instead of going somewhere where eggs are just scattered on a field and it's over within 1 minute. We invited the girls cousins to participate. They had a great time and Audrie was very kind to find eggs and point them out to everyone else, until we noticed she didn't have any eggs in her basket and realized she needed help. :) After we sorted eggs the men took the kids to the park to fly kites while Michelle and I got lunch for us all.

A visit from the Easter Bunny

On Saturday night we were going through plastic eggs with scriptures and symbols of why we really celebrate Easter. I don't think the girls really understood the scriptures, so I tried to explain as we went. When I told them that Jesus was resurrected and explained about it and that one day we too will be resurrected, Alexa looks at me and says, "Did you just make that up? Is that a pretend story? Is that really true mom?" At first I tried not to giggle, because thinking about what I just said to a 6 and 3 year, I too would have that perplexed look trying to understand it all. My reply was, "Well that's what we believe will happen, do you?" With a shrug of her shoulders she says, "I guess!" And off she went, and that was that!

I'm finding out that kids just take pieces of information you give and eventually one day they will put them together. I still find myself doing that!
